We stock a good range of fresh and frozen food and vegetables. milk, cream and clotted cream from Chew Valley incorporating milk from Gundenhams Farm in Wellington. Cakes and trabakes directly from ‘Jen’s Pantry’, in Willton, Exmoor Ham from Huish Champflower near Wiveliscombe. Plants from ‘Flowers by Wendy’ right here in Stogumber, Styles Ices recently moved to Williton. Somerset Farmshop supplies us with meat and other meat and deli products

Gundenham Farm - Milk and Cream

From 2nd October the shop milk supplies have been handled by Chew Valley Dairy who have stepped in to take over our original Gundenham Dairy deliveries.

This is still a local supplier and our milk and cream deliveries are from farm to shop as always.

CHEW VALLEY website tells us:

At Chew Valley Dairy, we supplement milk produced on our own farm with milk from nearby dairy farmers; dealing with supermarket or global brand buyers is not for everyone. Our suppliers are typically small, family-run farms which have one thing in common – they are all Red Tractor certified. It means that the milk is traceable, safe and farmed with care.

Gundenham Farm

Bread - local and fresh

Bread is directly from a local baker Glenmore Bakery in Williton.

The bread is collected by our volunteers three times a week.

Pop in and try some – it is lovely bread and in sealed bags to maintain freshness.

Glenmore Bakery is a well-established family run business which boasts that the vast majority of our produce is made solely in our bakery using traditional ingredients containing little or no artificial colours, preservatives or additives.

Somerset Farmhouse

Somerset Farmhouse – The farm shop in Williton supplies us with fabulous ham which the shop has always stocked.

They provide us with delicious sliced ham. It has that lovely flavour of fresh sliced ham because it is packed by the farm shop which right there in Williton – the old favourite you are all used to – ideal for sandwiches, snacks or meals.

Try it for lunch in a fresh soft roll from Stogumber shop or whip up a simple carbonara – you won’t be disappointed.

We also have a small selection of fresh meat such as mince and sausages just right for a quick supper.

Their meat is fresh as fresh – and supplied directly from the farm shop. Come in and place an order in Stogumber tomorrow – we are open 7 days a week.

You simply order from us and we will get it in for you – Pork chops or loin, maybe a joint of pork? – when did you last have some lovely crackling?

We can order fresh thick lamb chops, half shoulder and legs and the mint sauce is here too in the jar – or how about a lamb hot pot with those crispy tasty potatoes on top? Always a favourite and when did you last make one of those.

What about some been mince for a chili, a lasagne, bolognese or home made meat balls.

Jen's Pantry

Jen’s Pantry based just down the road in Williton, supply us with yummy products. Samples of their famous traybakes are shown here – but they seem to be selling quite quickly so don’t hang about.

Pasties – a favourite and need no description.

Individual Quiches – ideal for lunch or supper. Currently the following are supplied as and when they are baked at Jen’s Panty but they sell so quickly they almost cannot keep up with our orders:

Flowers By Wendy

‘Flowers by Wendy’ supplies Stogumber Shop with regular deliveries of lovely plants year-round for gifts, and seasonal plants for the garden, including bedding and vegetable plants.

Wendy is based here in the village of Stogumber. ‘Flowers by Wendy’ delivers to all local areas of west Somerset including Williton, Watchet, Kilve, Bishops Lydeard, Minehead, Taunton, Bridgwater and all other villages in between.

‘Flowers by Wendy’ offers a personal floral design service, using fresh, all year round flowers from her suppliers and a weekly supply of British flowers when in season from British growers as well as her own home-grown.

Meadowsweet Farm Eggs

Egggs – another product that comes directly from Farm to Shop

Meadowsweet Farm nestles in a pretty valley on the western fringes of the Quantock Hills. The farm in the hamlet of Newton is just a mile or maybe two over the hill from Stogumber. The farmhouse is a thatched property dating back to medieval times.

The eggs come directly from the farm to us here in Stogumber shop.

Large Eggs:

Meadowsweet Farm has supplied the shop with boxed farm fresh large eggs for a long time.

Medium Eggs:

We now also stock medium sized eggs – ideal for cooking and baking.

These are loose on trays which help you and us to recycling those egg boxes. Mark your empty box as ‘medium’ or with a big cross and bring it back ready for your next egg purchase.

Ice Cream from Styles

Styles Ice Cream is made in Rodhuish quite close to Stogumber, the Baker family have been making ice cream since 1930’s. They make it because they love ice cream. That’s the best recommendation as far as we are concerned.

The recipes today were perfected by Sue in her farmhouse kitchen, using only fresh whole jersey cow’s or sheep’s milk, with fresh West Country cream and no artificial colours or ingredients.

The use of jersey cow’s milk as ‘happened upon’ by chance when David and Sue received the wrong order of milk one day and found the resulting ice cream creamier and more luxurious, so they made the switch there and then.

We stock lots of individual pots and the family size too.
